On Track to COWAN PLACE! Multifamily Subcontractor Opportunity Day

A lighted lantern “signals a bright, modern future for one of Fort Worth’s historic communities,” its architect, Bennett Benner Partners of Fort Worth, said.
Here’s a look at final architectural renderings for Cowan Place, the mixed-income senior living community that makes up the first of six phases of affordable housing for the Stop Six neighborhood in southeast Fort Worth.
In April, the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded Fort Worth Housing Solutions and the City of Fort Worth a $35 million Choice Neighborhood Initiative Implementation Grant to seed redevelopment. That money will be distributed across all six phases, with other sources, such as as private financing, completing the funding. More than 1,000 units of affordable housing are expected to be built across Stop Six in the six phases, called the Stop Six Choice Neighborhood Initiative.

Construction has started on Morningside at Juban Lakes, a 120-unit apartment complex aimed at adults 55 and up.
CST Land Developers is developing the $20 million complex at the corner of Buddy Ellis Road and Village Lane. It’s near three other apartment complexes CST has developed since it acquired the 70 acre site in 2006: The Palms at Juban Lakes, The Crossing Apartments and The Village at Juban Lakes.

“Morningside has been a focus of our firm for some years as we realized the need for quality construction at affordable rates for pre- and post-retirees,” said Tom Delahaye, CST Land Developers’ managing partner.
Morningside has been designed by Lance Malley, AIA Architect, The Architectural Studio of Baton Rouge. Benchmark Group LLC is providing civil engineering and Block Builders, LLC, is the construction contractor.

Construction has started on The Palms at Sunset Lakes, a 144-unit apartment complex in Zachary near Lane Regional Medical Center.
The $24 million complex at 4150 McHugh Road is set to open in late 2021. Units will rent for $800 a month for a one-bedroom, $900 for a two-bedroom and $1,000 for a three-bedroom.

We are excited about the opportunity to work with McCormack, Baron, Salazar and Fort Worth Housing Solutions to bring their Cavile/ Cowan Place Senior Development vision to life!
The senior building will be three or four stories with approximately 111 one-bedroom and 11 two-bedroom rental apartments. Construction is scheduled to start in late 2020/early 2021 on vacant land at East Rosedale Street and Stalcup Road.
