Our in-house teamof compliance professionals lead our efforts on all our projects and have invested tens of thousands of hours in education and compliance training. Whether it is federal compliance requirements, such as DBRA and Section 3, orlocal compliance requirements aroundbusiness equity and inclusion, we have developed and implemented a robust internal strategy to ensure that we comply on each project we undertake. 

Committed To MWSBE

BLOCK is committed to the participation of MWSBE Firms on all our projects. Building on our success in affordable and mixed-income housing projects, we craft customized MWSBE Strategic Plans for each project.  

Our compliance strategy sets MWSBE and Section 3 businesses up for success from the Pre-Bid Phase through completion. We prioritize Business Equity Goal participation for certified MWSBE’s and Section 3 businesses. Through our diligent efforts, we are committed to meeting and exceeding participation goals for affordable and mixed-income housing construction projects.  

Our Compliance Team innovates and refines compliance programs to maximize positive economic impact for communities. With our creative bid packaging, community partnerships, and compliance strategy, we demonstrate our dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). To encourage economic opportunity, we provide on-going diversity training and workforce development.  

At BLOCK, we take our commitment to the community seriously, which is why we developed programs that our Compliance Team provides direct oversight, including:

  • BLOCK Apprenticeship Program: The BLOCK Apprenticeship Program, certified by the U.S. Department of Labor, provides individuals interested in a career path in construction an opportunity to be on the front line of our construction projects.  
  • Commitment to Hire: The Commitment to Hire Program ensures opportunities for Section 3 workers on our projects.  
  • Gateway Program: The Gateway Program offers work opportunities to neighborhood residents seeking to grow their construction skills and expand their job experience.
