Independence Heights is a 221-unit, urban infill 4% LIHTC affordable housing community developed in partnership with the Houston Housing Authority. The project broke ground in January 2026 and features a modern design anchored by a precast parking garage. The development delivers high-quality, energy-efficient apartment homes that support long-term affordability in one of Houston’s most historic neighborhoods.
The community includes contemporary floor plans, durable materials, and thoughtfully planned amenity spaces that promote stability, comfort, and resident connection. Positioned within a rapidly revitalizing corridor, Independence Heights expands equitable housing access while reinforcing the area’s cultural legacy and ongoing reinvestment efforts.
