About

One Westside Phase 1A & 1B is a 230-unit mixed-income affordable housing development located within Chattanooga’s Westside neighborhood and delivered as part of the City’s comprehensive One Westside revitalization effort. The project replaces outdated public housing with high-quality, resilient apartment homes while supporting long-term neighborhood transformation and resident stability.

Developed in partnership with the Chattanooga Housing Authority, the City of Chattanooga, and community stakeholders, One Westside is a key component of a HUD, Choice Neighborhood Initiative (CNI) Implementation Grant. The community includes a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, including replacement housing for existing residents, and is designed to promote walkability, connectivity, and access to supportive services. The phased development approach allows for thoughtful site activation while minimizing resident displacement and integrating new housing seamlessly into the surrounding neighborhood.

One Westside advances equitable housing access while serving as a catalyst for broader reinvestment across Chattanooga’s Westside, reinforcing long-term affordability, community health, and neighborhood vitality.

Financing:

Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (9% and 4%) through the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA); and local public-private funding partnerships.
