About
This landmark adaptive reuse project converted the former 1955 church of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart into 53 one- and two-bedroom apartments—44 income-restricted (up to 60% AMI) and 9 market-rate. The design preserved sweeping 25-foot arched ceilings, stone carvings, exposed brick, and original brass pendants, complemented by modern amenities including a fitness center, community room, business center, and street-level retail.
Financing:
The project was financed through a combination of LIHTC equity, Louisiana Housing Corporation support, Historic Tax Credits, and CDBG funds.
