About

6168 South Loop East Apartments is a 26-unit permanent supportive housing community developed by The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD in partnership with the City of Houston. Designed as an urban infill development, the project provides safe, modern, service-enriched housing for adults experiencing homelessness or living with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, or chronic health conditions. The community features 24 one-bedroom units and 2 fully accessible ADA one-bedroom units, along with dedicated spaces for supportive services, case management, and resident engagement.

The project plays an essential role in Houston’s Housing First strategy, expanding deeply affordable, clinically aligned housing within a high-opportunity corridor. Developed with durable materials and efficient building systems, the community ensures long-term stability for residents who benefit from on-site behavioral health services delivered by The Harris Center.
